What I wore yesterday

11 Feb

SteinMart

  • Cardigan:  Cable & Gauge, TJ Maxx
  • Blouse:  Stein Mart
  • Skirt:  Worthington, JCPenney
  • Shoes:  Guess, DSW

I just got this new blouse/shell from Stein Mart.  I love the colors and drapey neck.

Stein Mart had one of their sales this weekend.  I’m usually the youngest person shopping there, but I promise, I almost always find something I like, and at a good price.

My husband and youngest son tagged along and found things for themselves too.

Hi Natalie: I stumbled across your blog today and signed up because I really like your style and your budget-conscious finds. I’m a big fan of brands such as Worthington and Cable & Gauge, even though I’m Canadian and have to go over the border to find them.
If I could respectfully make one small suggestion … you are young and beautiful and look very smart in these outfits, but I do think you could shorten you skirts a bit as the current length is a bit frumpy. A taller woman could go shorter or longer, but I think you are too petite for below the knee or mid-calf and you have already discovered that full length is very nice on you.
Try going up an inch or two. I think it will make you look more stylish and sporty.

Thanks, Mary. I see and understand what you’re saying. Honestly, I think a lot of it just because I am so short and I need to find a tailor. :) Thanks for the suggestion.

I shouldn’t have said frumpy. With your looks and your love of colour, you definitely don’t look frumpy. I think matronly might have been a better word.
I was in NYC a couple of weekends ago and scored some fantastic Cable & Gauge cardigans at Century 21 for next to nothing. They are VERY colourful! And at this drab time of year, that’s just what the doctor ordered.

Thanks for stopping by and letting me know what you think!
